  • Maintain constant communication with District Attorneys and secretaries regarding open cases and status. Perform consistent follow up on open criminal cases and court dates. Act as the liaison between records department and district attorney office and litigation department. Identify and implement effective alternatives to improve efficiency in workflows to meet hard deadlines and complete assignments on time. Reviewing information from a variety of custody/law enforcement departments and agencies for the determination of course of action. Using Microsoft Word, developed a tracking log to monitor status closed cases. Maintain confidentiality while working on projects or work related situations. Prepare institution-wide memos informing staff of case status with the District Attorney and letters for Coroner's Office. Read and summarize incident reports for the filing process of the District Attorney. Proof reading submitted reports to verify correct punctuation, grammar, spelling, and penal code references. Compile factual research from personnel involved in incidents to complete task and reports for Monterey County District Attorney.   • Review and analyze many incident reports, 7219s, Temporary Holding Cell Logs and grievances alleging unnecessary/excessive UOF. Determined what type and the amount of times each staff member utilized force during the incident. Assure each staff member states the verbal order given, activate their personal alarm, announce a radio transmission. Assure staff member clearly articulate how and what type of UOF they utilized on an inmate. Each staff member utilizing force shall state the imminent threat. If I believe there is a discrepancy or staff did not thoroughly state something in their report, I will communicate with the SLMs of the incident and submit a clarification request and, if needed, inform the Warden/Chief Deputy Warden prior to the IERC meeting. I will complete a brief summary of the incident, the actions taken prior, during and after UOF and the IC, FLM and SLM reviews. I will ensure the appropriate Body Worn Camera footage is downloaded that I will be utilizing during the meeting and ensure they are set at the correct starting point and format. I will also have a note taking template for each incident report I will be presenting so I can take accurate notes and comments from committee members.
