Certified athletic therapist and registered Kinesiologist with over 13 years experience in the Ontario Hockey League and Hockey Canada's Program of Excellence supporting elite athletes in their personal wellness journey to become professional hockey players.
Provide athletic therapy for players/staff
Provide emergency first aid
Be mentor players
Manage medical supplies and fitness equipment
Work together with team doctors and dentists (physicals, mouth guards, appointments)
Communicate injury status of athlete with parent/billet parent as necessary
Coordinate any supplemental therapy as needed
Complete Hockey Canada injury forms as necessary, and work with out o country insurance provider for any import player injury
Complete files for each player with pre participation exam as well as other required documents as per league mandate. Maintain up to date medical records for each player.
Daily communication with coaching staff/management with updated injury reports and return to play plans, as well as weekly NHL injury reports
Maintain cleanliness of therapy room, as well as all other areas of dressing room/lounge/gym
Work together with strength and conditioning coordinator to implement in-season maintenance programs, monitor morning workouts
Manage yearly equipment budget
Skate sharpening
Equipment ordering
Equipment repairs
Administrative duties such as hotel, meal and transportation bookings
Work together with other league equipment managers to coordinate travel plans
