Teaching Philosophy

I strive to create classrooms rooted in equity, where every student's voice is seen as a cultural and intellectual resource. My teaching is informed by my own lived experience as a low-income student, homelessness, and exclusion, and I work intentionally to foster inclusive learning environments by balancing technology with access, designing writing communities that build peer support and cultivate a growth mindset. I believe in writing as a tool for empowerment, and my goal is for students to leave my courses with confidence in their ability to communicate, advocate, and create a better future for themselves.
