Passionate about healthcare equity and driven by a deep commitment to reduce disparities in medical access, I aspire to one day become a physician dedicated to expanding quality care for underserved communities. Raised by an immigrant family from the Middle East, I have witnessed firsthand the systemic challenges that marginalized populations face when seeking medical treatment. These experiences have fueled my desire to work at the intersection of medicine, data-driven research, and community advocacy to improve patient outcomes.
I gained hands-on experience in patient care and medical documentation, charted patient encounters, scanned and organized medical documents, and ensured accurate record-keeping. I also conducted patient intake, including recording vital signs and reviewing the History of Present Illness (HPI) to assist in preliminary assessments.
As a medical scribe at a med spa, I documented patient encounters, including treatment plans, cosmetic procedures, and follow-up care to ensure accurate record-keeping. I charted injectable treatments, laser therapies, and skincare regimens, assisting providers in maintaining detailed patient histories. Additionally, I scanned and organized medical documents and consent forms.
Starting a few years ago, the young adults ministry collaborated with the local police department to donate, pack, and deliver thanksgiving dinners to local, underrepresented members of the community.
I was entrusted to oversee the financial management of the initiative, ensuring that funds were allocated appropriately for purchasing food, packaging supplies, and transportation costs. I worked closely with donors, tracked expenses, and maintained financial records to ensure transparency and accountability. Additionally, I assisted in coordinating fundraising efforts and securing sponsorships to expand the program’s reach each year.
