Working for the pharmaceutical company Charles River Laboratory for 3 summers and during the pandemic of Covid-19. Starting as a support technician in toxicology during the summers to receiving the Inhalation Technician training to dose for pre-clinical trial studies. Receiving training as a Prosector 1 in the necropsy department. Liability, cooperation, leadership, good laboratory practices, all play an important role in this facility. As a recent graduate in Forensic Science with a specialization in Biology, my interests will be to continue on a pathology background and be involved and assisting autopsies. A masters in Pathology Assistant will be the next step in my career. This field requires to view the human body in a criminal aspect and subjectivity to analyze and report on the findings. A critical and analytical mind is needed in this field as well as knowing your own limits to what you can handle on the field.
Performs clinical observations on the pre-clinical test subjects, collects data of specimens as well as using handlings activities. Is responsible of providing a controlled environment for test subjects and any other husbandry activity. Provides daily morbidity data of the studies to the Research Associate as well as Study director.

In charge of the procedures and protocols exercised which include calibrations of equipment used.
Perform various necropsy procedures such as dissection, tissue collection and sampling. Performs rigorous necropsies techniques such as brain, eye dissection, perfusion fixation, cerebral spinal fluid collection, bronchoalveolar lavage and more. Works in an environment following FDA, Health Canada as well as good laboratory practices regulations. Must be a good team player and be able to work independently.
