  • Field Office Dogharoun/Afghanistan-Iran border, Assist the office in keep refugees informed on issues concerning voluntary repatriation
  • Assist in identifying and registering refugees who have opted for voluntary repatriation
  • Maintain harmonious working relations with the implementing partners to facilitate the voluntary repatriation process
  • Provide office with weekly/monthly reports, in relation to the registration and movement of repatriates
  • Assist in organizing the transportation and reception of returnees if such arrangement is necessary to protect the interests of refugees
  • Assist in preparing required documentation of repatriating refugees, e.g., visas, travel documents, clearance from local authorities
  • Liaise with the provincial authorities to obtain information/statistics related to the movements of refugees without UNHCR assistance
  • Performs other duties as required

  • Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and undertake refugee eligibility and status determination ensuring compliance with UNHCR procedural standards and international protection principles
  • Ensure that UNHCR’s age, gender and diversity approach to protection is consistently applied through community-based protection methods
  • Build the protection capacity of national and local government, partners and civil society to assume their responsibilities vis-à-vis all persons of concern through protection training, mainstreaming and related activities
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on protection issues to persons of concern; liaise with competent authorities to ensure the issuance of civil documentation
  • Oversee and manage individual protection cases, including those on SGBV and child protection
  • Monitor and intervene in cases of refoulement, expulsion and other protection incidents through working relations with governments and other partners
  • Ensure provision of durable solutions, through voluntary repatriation, local integration and, where appropriate, resettlement to the largest possible number of persons of concern
  • Develop and implement country level protection plans in areas such as child protection, SGBV and education, as part of the protection strategy and ensure partnerships are forged with relevant government agencies and partners
  • Processing entitlements, issues of contracts and maintains various personnel records and files
  • Processing requests for visas, identity cards, driving licences and other personnel-related documents
  • Attends meeting on day-to-day admin matters; administrators the movement of local staff members, their attendance, leave plan, overtime, etc
  • Assists in the preparation of inventory records of non-expandable equipment for submission to head quarters and takes care of stationary order
  • Maintains financial records and monitoring systems to record and reconcile expenditures, balances, payments, statements, and other data for day-to-day transactions band reports
  • Assists in preparing financial vouchers and monthly accounts
  • Selects and enters data from a wide variety of documents, verifying accuracy by checking sources, making necessary calculations, and assuring inclusion of all relevant data
  • Assists in preparing admin budget submission for entire year; maintains liaison with officials of local bank to obtain day-to-day information in exchange and interest rates, changes in procedures and regulations and matters pertaining to maintenance of office bank accounts
