  • Performed routine and stat samples on a variety of specimens in core department
  • Using the Immucor NEO IRIS, performed ABO/Rh and antibody screening as well as conducting quality control and maintenance when needed
  • Also utilized the Immucor ECHO LUMENA as a backup when needed
  • Developed the skill to investigate antibody investigations using antigrams when faced with
  • Performed cross matching on blood products in a timely manner, communicating with the floor in order to send products out via pneumatic tube system when ready
  • Received blood products from Canadian Blood Services and performed ABO screening on it
  • Using the Beckman Coulter DXH 900 to run patient sample to obtain CBC parameters and verifying it on Remisol to further work it up and create a blood film using the SMSS
  • Performed a CBC differential count alongside using Cellavision DM9600 as a reference
  • Completed CBC differentials to recognize different disorders and performing a malarial parasitemia
  • Performed ESR samples using the Minii SED ESR and coagulation studies with the STA-R EVOLUTION
  • Completed timely QC analysis and provided regular reports on discrepancies using the DXC 700 AU and Unicel DXI 600
  • Ran patient samples for chemistry analysis such as electrolytes and immunoassay tests including ferritin and tumor markers
  • Using the CLINTEK NOVOUS and OSMO 1, was able to run urine samples and further investigate under the microscope for crystals, bacteria, etc
  • Ran stat and routine blood gas samples on the ABL 90 Flex Plus using the dark green Heparin tubes and syringes for neonates
  • Performed validation and linearity testing on Glucometers for POCT using patient samples
