I am a 12th-grade student who is about to graduate. I was born in California, USA, and received my elementary school education in the United States. During middle school, due to family reasons, I moved to China with my family and completed my middle school education and one year of high school there. Therefore, I am fluent in both English and Chinese, which I consider my native languages.
I developed a passion for swimming during the summer of middle school and have continued training since then. I joined my high school swim team in China and, during my free time, obtained a Chinese lifeguard certification. I also worked during a school break as a lifeguard and assistant swim instructor at a swimming facility in Changchun, where I was mainly responsible for ensuring the safety of young swimmers and assisting with instruction.
At the end of 2024, I returned to the United States with my family and am currently attending Gabrielino High School. I am a member of the school swim team and have also completed lifeguard training at the YMCA, earning an American lifeguard certification.
I am passionate about swimming and skilled in breaststroke, freestyle, and butterfly. I have also received awards in freestyle events at high school swim competitions.
Since I was young, I have followed my mother in practicing my faith, which has helped me become a caring and patient person. I have two younger brothers, and I truly enjoy being around children. I am comfortable working with kids and know how to communicate with them.
I am applying for a lifeguard and swim instructor position. Although I may not have extensive experience, I am eager to learn, work hard, and I believe I am capable of performing well in this role.
