As wish granters, our role involves meeting with wish children and their families to identify the child's deepest desires. We engage in collaborative brainstorming and planning to enhance the wish experience. Operating in pairs, alongside Make-A-Wish staff, we strive to fulfill the wishes of every eligible child.
I had the privilege of meeting and shadowing the esteemed Senator Ratna Omidvar, gaining invaluable insights into the workings of Parliament Hill and the persistent challenges surrounding equal representation in Canadian politics. This opportunity allowed me to immerse myself in the intricacies of political life while networking with professionals in the field, deepening my understanding of the importance of diverse voices in shaping legislative decisions.
Furthermore, my active participation in the Women in Parliament's Leadership Summit, under the mentorship of Senator Ratna Omidvar, has equipped me with essential leadership and advocacy skills. My tenure as a Committee Review Board member for McMUN has significantly developed my capacity to offer insightful recommendations aimed at fostering equity and inclusivity within the organization. In this role, I was tasked with meticulously evaluating committee slates to guarantee a comprehensive representation of diverse topics and regions.
