Preoperative experience in educating patients, families and caregivers in a pre op setting as well as gathering vital information to communicate to the OR staff prior to surgery.

Post op care and education to safely send patients home to recover after Day surgery in an efficient and timely manner.

Clinical calls to patients and family members at home to gather information and provide important pre operative instructions.

• Implemented interventions, including Medication and IV administration ( various IV drips) IV catheter insertion, Trachestomy care and Airway management during acute respiratory distress.
• Collaborated with physicians to quickly assess patients conditions in a IMCU or floor setting and deliver appropriate treatment while managing rapidly changing conditions.
• Collected blood, Blood cultures, Venous blood gases and other laboratory specimens including bodily fluids prepared for lab testing.
• Collaborated with interdisciplinary healthcare personnel’s such as Physicians, Nurse practitioners, Dieticians, Social work, Physiotherapists, Respiratory therapists, Occupational therapists to meet patients personal, physical, psychological and cognitive needs.
• Organized and managed care of patients undergoing various therapies and procedures that may require conscious sedation including Chest tube insertions, TPA, Pleurodesis, Arterial line insertions, Bronchoscopies.
• Reviewed post-operative orders, transcribing, setting up and managing PCA, Ketamine, Peripheral Nerve blocks, Tap and Rectus Sheaths, and Epidural infusions For pain management.
• Prepared patients for surgery, educating patients and family members on major surgical procedures such as lobectomys and Esophagectomys.
• Caring for patients who require cardiac monitoring. Interpreting and tracking EKG readings, identifying irregular telemetry readings and updating team members on such changes.
• Managed patients recovering from medical or surgical procedures, including facilitating Wound care(suture removal), Ostomy care, Tracheostomy care, NG care, Drain care ( JPs, sumps, penrose etc.) Foley catheter insertion and removal. Management of Chest tubes and pigtail drains.
• Proficient in the care of central venous catheters, picc lines, arterial lines, port a caths, hickman lines and highly experienced in IV insertion and phlebotomy.
