Alireza Motamedi

It was a fun time volunteering at Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre. It was a great experience for me. I packed food for the people who needed to consume it but didn't have the money to provide it. I met a bunch of great people, became friends with them, had conversations with them, and helped each other when somebody needed help. My shifts were 4 hours and sometimes 8 hours a day if I was free on those days and wanted to help more people get what they wanted. I volunteered there for more than 30 hours during the summer break. It was the best thing that I did in the summer break for sure.

I did a couple of extracurricular activities, especially when I was in my country, Iran. I was part of my school's soccer and table tennis team. We won provincial in soccer many times, and I really miss my teammates and friends after moving to Canada. I also did swimming for nearly 9 years. I did swimming professionally from grade 7 up until grade 8. I also did some music activities, my focus area was Piano. I learned and practiced Piano for 7 years. At my peak, I did some mini-concerts in front of 100 people, which stressed me out. In Canada, I am part of my school's chess club. I like chess, and I am improving my skills every day to be able to be a really good chess player.
