Berkshire Park Elementary School (70 hours)

  • Currently assisting in a Kindergarten classroom.
  • Learning the structure of a Kindergarten classroom while assisting in daily routines and organization.
  • Assist the teacher in classroom preparation and the delivery of lesson plans.
  • Independently lead small groups during literacy and art projects.
  • Provide support for students that need extra assistance.

Irene Kelleher Elementary School (4 hours)

  • As a part of the Teaching Children Philosophy course at UFV, myself along with two classmates independently prepared and delivered four Philosophy lesson plans in a Grade 5 classroom outside of scheduled class-time. These sessions were observed by the Grade 5 teacher as well as my university professor.
  • These lesson plans included various different philosophies such as Natural Philosophy, Materialism, Free Will (Locke), and Friendship (Aristotle).
  • The themes of these lesson plans included relationships, empathy, freedom, moral responsibility, personal identity, change, existence, meaning, and language.
  • Learned various different facilitation strategies while managing classroom behaviour.

Maddaugh Elementary School (100 hours)

  • Assisted in a grade 2/3 split classroom.
  • Independently led directed drawing lessons as well as conducted and assessed spelling tests.
  • Managed classroom behaviour while also maintaining a positive atmosphere.
  • Assisted the students in subjects such as mathematics, art, and English.
  • Provided one-on-one support to students needing extra help, enhancing their understanding of key concepts.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program (50 hours)

  • Student Mentor at Fort Langley Elementary.
  • Accepted the position of a role-model for a student needing extra one-on-one support in school who was diagnosed with ADHD, and remained with him for the duration of Kindergarten to the end of Grade 1.
  • Independently planned and prepared activities for each session such as crafts, Lego, sports, and tutoring.
  • Created a supportive learning environment.
  • Fostered a trustworthy relationship with the student by actively listening to concerns, thoughts, feelings and providing consistent support.

Assistant Soccer Coach                                                              February 2022-March 2022

Langley United Soccer Association (10 hours)
