I wish to use my skills and dedication to enhance the educational experiences of students, as well as to provide a learning environment that meets the needs of the classroom and school community. I am a friendly and enthusiastic educator with the range to educate students in the Primary, Junior, and Intermediate divisions in numerous subjects. My teaching philosophy is based on providing an equitable and diverse learning experience for students, where each student believes that they can succeed. I can adapt to meet the individual needs of students, and in doing so, create an inclusive learning environment.

  • As my first in person placement, I was excited for the opportunity to finally teach in a classroom setting. During my time at St. Mother Teresa, I was involved in several school activities. One such activity was a weekly volleyball game between students and teachers that helped me meet and develop relationships with the staff. Another activity was the Stations of the Cross service that we held during the last day before Easter break. I was tasked to facilitate this activity, where I delegated tasks to students, helping them with their prayers and providing materials needed for the activity. In terms of the classroom, I was tasked with creating lessons for Physical Education and Religion. I also developed units for Math (Data Management) and Health (Drugs and Alcohol).

We would submit our lesson plans and other resources on a Google classroom, which our group members would be able to access. These lessons consisted of Math, Language, and a subject of our choice, mine being Science. After we delivered our lessons, we would then be given feedback by our peers, as well as our Faculty Advisor if they were able to attend.
