  • RE: Associate Masters Mental Health Professional
  • Dear Hiring Committee
  • I am writing to express my interest in the Associate Masters Mental Health Professional position at Kaiser Permanente (Elk Grove). With a background in mental health and social services, I bring experience in clinical care, case management, and culturally responsive therapeutic services, all of which align well with your needs.
  • I hold a master’s-level education (Social Work / Behavioral Health) and have served for a year as a Mental Health Clinician, along with two additional years performing case management in social services. During this time, I conducted biopsychosocial assessments, created and implemented treatment plans, and provided individual psychotherapy, often to clients from diverse and underserved backgrounds.
  • My prior work required precise clinical documentation, compliance with agency and regulatory standards, and maintenance of intake summaries, treatment plans/notes, and case records. I understand the importance of adhering to documentation protocols and clinical standards outlined by Kaiser Permanente’s scope of practice and confidentiality requirements.
  • I am experienced in providing outpatient psychotherapy to individuals (and when appropriate, collaborating on family or group sessions), providing psychoeducation, and coordinating with case management and external community resources. I am comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team, consulting supervisors (e.g., licensed clinical social worker) and psychiatrists when needed, and referring clients to community agencies for further support.
  • I am particularly drawn to Kaiser Permanente’s integrated, evidence-based, and equity-focused model of mental health care. I am eager to contribute to a team that values social justice, holistic care, and reducing stigma around mental health. I am available to begin as soon as possible (or by January 2026, preferably) and am fully prepared to complete the required supervised hours toward licensure (e.g., LCSW) in the State of California, thereby meeting the additional requirements of this role.
  • Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to follow Kaiser Permanente’s mission and serve its members.
  • Sincerely
  • Alexei Rivera
