Business Ventures

Popï and Dria
Montreal, QC
04.2023 - Current

In early 2023, faced with financial challenges while pursuing full-time studies in fine arts and psychology, I made a pivotal decision to embark on a new path. Driven by my passion, I set out to establish a women's boutique named Popï and Dria in Montreal.

Determined to transform my circumstances, I dedicated myself to securing funding and seeking guidance from a mentor. Through relentless effort and strategic planning, I successfully obtained the necessary financial resources and found a mentor who offered invaluable support and guidance. After six months of intensive preparation, I proudly launched Popï and Dria a brick-and-mortar boutique. This professional endeavour allowed me to combine my love for fashion and entrepreneurship, creating a unique retail experience for women in Montreal. By seizing this opportunity and leveraging my creativity, business acumen, and resilience, I have successfully transitioned from a financially challenging situation to a fulfilling role as an entrepreneur. My journey not only demonstrates my ability to overcome obstacles but also exemplifies my commitment to pursuing my passion and achieving professional success. Although I had to transition my store to an online-only presence due to unforeseen life events, my experience with Popï and Dria provided me with valuable transferable skills. These skills include:

  • E-commerce Management: Successfully adapting my business model to an online platform, overseeing website development, managing online inventory, and implementing effective digital marketing strategies.
  • Digital Marketing: Utilizing various online channels to promote the boutique, including social media marketing, email campaigns, and search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to drive website traffic and increase online visibility.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Nurturing customer relationships through personalized online interactions, responding to inquiries, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Analytical Skills: Collecting and analyzing data related to website traffic, customer behavior, and sales patterns to make informed decisions and optimize business strategies.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrating the ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances and pivot the business model to ensure continued success.
  • Time Management: Balancing multiple responsibilities, including managing inventory, fulfilling orders, and maintaining an online presence while optimizing efficiency and meeting customer expectations.
  • Problem-Solving: Effectively identifying and resolving issues that arise in an online retail environment, such as logistics challenges, technology glitches, or customer concerns.

Through my journey with Popï and Dria, I have acquired these valuable transferable skills that can be applied to various roles and industries. Despite the changes in my business's format, I remain committed to pursuing my passion and achieving professional growth and success.
