Drafted the company’s inaugural data and AI policies for the use of artificial intelligence by their employees, including designing an impact assessment guideline and compliance protocol for employees to ensure that appropriate reporting and safety measures are in place for the future adoption and use of AI systems.
Conducted consultations with employees across both the Edmonton and Calgary offices with the goal of understanding current levels of AI literacy across the staff, individual use of AI in their professional work, and overall perspectives in the role they see AI playing in their positions across both the short and medium term (5 years) horizons.

Developed and executed a series of national public deliberations in support of the Advisory Council on Artificial Intelligence’s Public Awareness Working Group. This included establishing a project critical path, managing relationships with partner institutions, coordinating over 500 participants, facilitators, and note takers across 18 digital workshops to assess Canadian’s perceptions and attitudes towards the use and development of artificial intelligence (AI).
Participated in negotiations for the formation of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), an international organization governing the responsible use of AI, in conjunction with OECD and G7 partners.
Served as a government observer on the Responsible AI and Innovation and Commercialization Working Groups of GPAI.
Co-lead in drafting strategic planning documents, including designing a new funding stream to assist with AI commercialization in systemically underserved and marginalized communities.
Developed an index of all federal AI policy and programming in development. This information was procured via interviews with federal public servants and used to produce a wiki-style reference site of ongoing initiatives and policy gaps in Government of Canada AI policy.
