
-To become a full-time, paid professional firefighter for the Ventura County Fire Department.
-Led a team of heavy equipment operators on multiple different projects ranging from Ventura County to LA County.
-Projects included mass over-excavations for both custom and single family tract homes.
-Successfully completed projects on time and under budget, properly directing the overall operation while simultaneously operating dozers, scrapers, excavators, water trucks / hoses and loaders.
-Installing various types of wet and dry utilities including water lines, sewer lines, storm drain lines, Edison conduits, low voltage communication conduits and gas lines throughout Ventura and LA County.
-Saw cutting and installing iron, clay, copper and PVC pipe along with boxes, handholes, vaults, hydrants, catch basins and manholes.
-Cutting and patching into existing streets, sidewalks or driveways to install or repair utilities.
- Managing traffic control while upholding safety standards around live utilities and open trenches.
-Reading and following plans, survey staking, and soils recommendations.
-Communicating efficiently with crew and on-site superintendents.
-Respond and contain brush fires using various suppression tactics.
-Create and maintain fuel breaks to protect Ventura County residents.
-Operate and maintain apparatus that requires special licensure.
-Safely operate and maintain chainsaws as well as other hand tools.
-Participate in flood control.
