I have over 13 years' experience in multi-industry sectors such as Construction, Mining, Oil and Gas, Forestry, Transportation, Utilities, Manufacturing, Pulp and Paper, Waste Management, Engineering, Entertainment, Environmental, Warehousing, Accademia, and Utilities.
• Reporting to the Director of HR my role was to support the organization by providing the company with accurate professional advice based current legislative requirements in three provinces where we operate (BC, ON, NS)
• This included developing and implementing numerous initiatives in health and safety, sustainability, and human resource projects.
• My role also consisted of workplace investigations, ministry investigations and OHS complaints.
• Report impact analysis in high level format for executives.
• Collaborated with finance for budgetary matters.
• Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators for project execution.
• Maintain an incident management system to monitor TRIF, workforce hours, and KPI’s on safety activities to improve leading indicators and decrease lagging indicators.
• Ensure all registries were maintained weekly to avoid any non-compliance concerns. (Avetta, CanQual, ISNet, Complyworks etc.)
• Develop courses for provincial boards, while working with multiple Universities to increase worker and supervisor awareness regarding construction safety, human resource requirements, injury management, mental health awareness and sustainability efforts.
• Provide service to organizations for large returns through provincial insurance boards, and development of employee wellness programs
• Provide creative solutions to clients to minimize cost while maximizing performance and employee retention
• Complete GAP analyses, and develop programs, documents, manuals, communications, and training when required
• Maintain a current knowledge of industry standards, employment standards, human resources legislation and quality standards across within North America.
• Support supervisor in day to day health and safety tasks, training, compliance, and following our Health and Safety Manual.
• Completing revisions or new policies and safe operating procedures.
• Complete hazard assessments for work tasks.
• Oversee the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee’s in all provinces.
