Work History

Laborer

Home Hardware Building Centre
05.2023 - 09.2023

I worked full time at a home hardware in both the lumber yard and as a cashier. In the yard I was responsible for loading customers vehicles with the product they ordered, loading our delivery trucks, and going to delivery sites to help unload the product. As a cashier I would work at the counter to checkout customers or stock shelves on delivery days. In a day I would often work both jobs at once to cover for multiple people.

Laborer

The Wilds
04.2021 - 11.2022

The Wilds was a golf course where I worked as a general laborer. My main job was to go around the course and fill divots on the tee deck or fairways, but I would also do odd jobs around the course that needed to be done like stack woods, clear areas of debris, move materials like sand or gravel, and many other jobs.

  • Club Wrestling with K-bay wrestling club. K-bay wrestling club is a wrestling club that has helped produce multiple national level wrestlers since it's inception. Practices are every Tuesday and Thursday night and we take part in a variety of tournaments all over Ontario. The club has helped me to become a stronger wrestler and broaden my horizons by allowing me to wrestle at different university tournaments to meet coaches and wrestlers for top universities. Wrestling as a whole has helped me socially, physically, and mentally by testing my drive to be to the best version of my self, and my nerves under stressful situations.
  • High School Wrestling. I've been high school wrestling since my grade 10 year, end this year after OFSAA. Practices every Monday and Wednesday after school and tournaments every week. Wrestling was a challenge for me both mentally and physically and did not come easy at first but over the years it has helped me develop not only physically but also as a person. I now have a more leader-like role on the team and am confident in helping new wrestlers.
  • Link Crew. LINK Crew is a leadership program that my school participates in where grade 10's, 11's and 12's become link leaders in their school to host community events and to make the transition into high school easier for new students. My school is very lucky to have a thriving LINK crew program that grade nines can take advantage of because my school has to actively apply for it to use it's resources. It's shown me over the past few months just how important it is to have senior leaders help new students since, because of covid, I didn't have the same experience with senior leaders in my grade 9 year.
  • DECA, a business club at my school. DECA is an international business competition that my school is a part of where students have to complete exams based on business knowledge and, more importantly, solve problems for judges based on the case study given to them at the competition. Last year I represented my school at Ontario DECA provincials and will be doing the same this year. DECA has helped build my public speaking and problem skills and has taught me many valuable academic lessons that classes could not.

AP courses

Throughout my high school career I have taken the enriched math program at my high school which offers extra challenges and opportunities for those who are more inclined towards math. In this past year it has provided great insight into what university math will be like next year and has prepared me for what to expect from university curriculum and it's it's professors.
