The acute care hospital’s existing Air Handling Units (AHU) are over
24 years old and do not meet current code requirements for humidity
and mixed air control. The scope of work includes fabrication and
installation of redundant AHU-7B; duct cleaning and sealing of AHU-8

Providence St. Joseph Burbank ED Expansion, Urgent Care Addition, and Site Utility Relocation, Burbank, CA
Working on an operational hospital campus, an expansion is being made to the existing Emergency Department (ED) and separate addition is being made to create a new Urgent Care Department (UCD). The ED is expanded from 13,800 square feet to 35,500 square feet, while the UCD adds an additional 11,000 square feet. Significant soil improvement measures include a combination of 40' underground stone columns and injecting concrete deep soil mixing. Extensive site utility rerouting or relocation is upgrading all main infrastructure feeds and adding new 12Kw power to the active operational campus.
The scope of work on this project consisted of replacing the existing
HVAC system in the Microbiology Building. The fan coil units that were
located along the external walkways were beyond their lifetime and
no longer energy efficient. The units at each level were replaced with
new units. The heating and chilled water piping were also replaced.
Other improvements included painting the building exterior walls and
handrails and replacing the exterior fascia.
