As a Senior Human Resource professional I provide full range of human resource services in the areas of employee and labour relations, negotiation, grievance and arbitration processes, investigations, staffing, organizational learning, compensation, organizational effectiveness and professional practice.

• Expertise in the development and evaluation of policies, procedures, programs and initiatives that support and advance the Agency’s mission, values, policies and strategic direction.
• Provides strategic direction regarding all labour relations activities for the Agency, including the negotiation process with the union.
• Supports all union/management negotiations and activities during the term of the collective agreement. Provides labour relations interpretation and application advice to all levels of management.
• Leads communication and meets regularly with union representatives to foster and promote amicable union/management relations and to identify and deal with concerns and issues.
• Oversees the grievance/arbitration process. Advises to a variety of third-party hearings.
• Manages and/or leads the Agency’s discipline process either by assisting managers or by leading the process, conducting interviews, conducting investigations and advising on appropriate levels of discipline.
• Leads harassment investigations by conducting investigations, reporting findings and making recommendations to Senior Leadership and assisting with implementing courses of action. May recommend the use of a third-party investigator where appropriate.
• Champions, coaches, and mentors the development of capable HR professionals and leaders to their full potential within organization and fosters and demonstrates high-performance, cross-functional teamwork.

o Implements the Agency’s attendance management program that supports regular attendance at work and contributes to the reduction of sick leave usage.
