Assist in set-ups and operate, in a safe and efficient manner, all assigned equipment, machines, tools, fixtures, trunnions and processes required to make, assemble, weld and manufacture customer's products.
Operate previously set up welding machines such as spot, butt and seam resistance or gas and arc welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts.
Operate overhead crane and hoist for moving materials, fixtures and parts.
Set up and operate a variety of saws to cut metal pipes.
File, grind and smooth rough edges and surfaces of metal pipes.
Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications.
Ensure full compliance with all OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) requirements, plant safety rules, work rules and procedures as may apply to duties performed.
At all times, wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the tasks being performed.
Actively participate in training and continuous improvement activities that promote the efficient and cost-effective utilization of plant resources
Complete assigned paperwork may be required, for example, scrap; production counts; downtime; quality; labor reporting; preventative maintenance etc.
Understand and follow the Standard Work/Process/Operating Instructions as posted at workstation prior to undertaking tasks.
Participated in 5S activities by initiating and maintaining a clean and orderly work area, as necessary.
Understand and follow all EHS policies.
Participated in and promoted EHS activities.
Stop work activities that create EHS hazards.
