• Provide Supervisory support and relief to Pulp Mill and Effluent Treatment plan superintendents
• Promoted safe working environment by training roughly 130 employees for Total Safety Culture Initiative, helping mill achieve 0 OSHA recordable injuries in 2012 YTD
• Supported transition to single source specialty chemical supplier resulting in 15% total chemical cost savings leading to annual plant cost savings of $165 K/yr
• Developed process metrics and monitoring program to improve mill yield and equipment reliability resulting in 10% reduction in yield losses in pulp mill
• Worked with equipment vendors to implement new mechanical screening technologies to improve pulp quality by enhancing screening efficiency from 78% to 89%
• Managed and completed projects aimed at improving existing process using chemical additives thus providing over $250,000 in chemical and energy savings
• Identified root cause of final product quality issues through data analysis and root cause troubleshooting resulting in near elimination of scab sheet defects

• Completed material balances, process flow diagrams and Operating Manuals for process boil out aimed at cleaning piping and equipment resulting in increased operating efficiency
• Designed process feeding equipment and operating manuals for over 15 chemical feeding applications focused on equipment reliability and simplicity
• Participated in plant Kaizen blitz’s and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing quality and productivity such as Break 50 Team to reduce plant downtime
• Investigated and trialed new technologies such as Pareto Wet End Technology which saved one of clients $400,000 per year in chemical and energy savings
• Completed process troubleshooting and data analysis, using Pi Process book and Excel, for one of largest newsprint manufacturers in North America
