AKSH PATEL

As an Application Developer experienced in Agile methodologies, I possess expertise in Java, C/C++, Python, PL/SQL, and Oracle database management. I am also proficient in web development using HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript. With my proficiency in using VS Code, PyCharm, Eclipse, Jira, Netlogo, Adobe Photoshop, Gimp, and phpMyAdmin, I am able to ensure efficient project management. I have a strong knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Xv6.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) - Applied Computing Coop with a Cumulative Avg. of 90.18 GPA and Major Avg. of 90.9 GPA, I have also worked as a Teaching Assistant where I taught JAVA, HTML5, and Algorithms and Programming in C language to an estimated 250 students. Additionally, I have successfully managed the end-to-end processes of development and integrated version control of projects using MKS Integrity Client 10 during a Co-op term with CIBC as an Application Developer.

My experience includes design review and participation in team meetings to plan walkthroughs. I am also currently developing a Source Code Plagiarism Detection Tool using suitable data structures and algorithms for detection. With my skills and experience, I am confident in my ability to contribute positively to any team and project.

Source Code Plagiarism Detection Tool Jan 2023- Present

• Implemented suitable Data Structures and Algorithms for detection using Structural and Semantic approach which are Fingerprinting for Structural Comparison, Random walk Algorithm and Token edit Algorithms which uses graph comparison

• Currently in development phase with promising accuracy of 75 % while comparing C files 

• Scheduling to incorporate additional features which could magnify the scope of input files to other programming languages, and with upgraded end result

• Worked as a productive and positive team member to design, code, test, report, and debug operations to create a University Hostel management system for Admin, Staff, and student users

• Was a key player to build the schema, and ER diagram for the database by evading any DML Anomaly and examination for redundancies

• Design and developed Authentication forms for users to check if they are authorized users on the website using PHP

• Profitably recognized, detected, and fixed website problems, involving broken links, typographic errors, and data formatting issues

• Helped to accomplish a consistent appearance and visual theme across the website by endorsing even fonts, formatting, images, and layout

• Implemented suitable Data Structures for management of the bookstore using AGILE methodologies in a team of 4, prioritizing / scoping feature requests to ensure that the biggest impact features were worked on first

• Performed unit testing of the code by creating test cases in Junit

• Established, preserved, and improved extensive test coverage for all new features using Junit, which lowered the number of customer objections 

• Application was connected to the SQL back-end using JAVA JDBC drivers for retrieving information.
