- Helped with Activities of Daily Living like dressing the resident, feeding them, providing perineal care, providing bed bath and showers where I would it as an opportunity to see if the resident has bruises, pressure sores, rash etc
- Provided Ostomy care which did not only provide comfortability to the residents but also acted as a venue for interaction with the resident.
- Provided the best individualized care through reading the care plan and kardex during documentation.
- Helped with transferring clients. Through this activity, I learned how to operate the different types of lifts like the ceiling lift, sit to stand lift and the hoyer lift.
- Played games with the residents like balloons, bingo, chess. During this time, I got time to have a conversation with the clients where I would get to ask about their likes, cultures, had time to laugh together and tell stories as well. I also got to learn how to Play Bingo that I never knew through them teaching me.
- Demonstrated passionate care by spending time engaging with residents, Walking clients around, serving them coffee and tea, watching the birds, reading books to them. These moments always brought smiles to the residents and also acted as venues for interaction and laughter.
- Brainstormed different activities like singing and dancing in Spanish for my Spanish residents which always created a wide smile on their faces.
