With over 20 years of experience working for international and governmental organisations, I have extensive knowledge of national security, intelligence, counter-terrorism, counter-espionage, international affairs, and conflict transformation. Working on almost 20 terrorist organisations in Central and South Asia and the Middle East equipped me with a deep understanding of their motives, structures, and operations. My work in National Directorate of Security (Afghanistan's prime intelligence service during the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan) helped me to also learn substantially about adversarial espionage activities of some states such as China, Russia, and Iran at the regional and global levels. I led several successful programs and projects in complex and harsh environments.
The DDO position was the second in command within the National Directorate of Security (NDS), Afghanistan’s national intelligence service.
The position was directly reporting to the Director General of the NDS.
