Aimerie Chartree Doyon

Working a Jack Astor's on Front Street in Toronto- the largest and busiest location- allowed me to hone my ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. I was responsible for managing guest flow during high value days such as Blue Jays games and concerts, coordinating small and large reservation , and eventually worked up to being 'podium' where I was responsible for assigning seats, dealing with large walk-in group, creating and changing sections as well as opening and closing the host stands. During times when I was not working as 'podium' in addition to regular host duties I was also responsible for running food, conducting bathroom checks and helping buss and reset tables. This role required me to be quick on my feet, able to multitask, and above all else able to provide a seamless guest experience regardless of the situation.

At Aritzia my main responsibilities were running clothes from the back room to the floor and ensuring everything on the floor remained placed in a presentable fashion. Working here taught me valuable skills such as working in fast paced environments and meeting my responsibilities whilst remaining approachable and available to any customers that needed my assistance.

As a camp counselor for a youth tennis camp I worked collaboratively with 3 other camp counselors to find interactive activities to entertain the children of varying age skills and developmental levels. This allowed me to learn how to be very patient and adaptable to different situations. This job additionally taught me how to be very vigilant and safety conscious, especially when working with children, ensuring camper safety by enforcing camp rules, supervising group activities, and responding promptly to incidents or concerns.
