Aidan Poyner

Responsible for assisting in the development of control logic and human machine interfaces for gas turbines and other machinery within the energy industry such as generators and natural gas compression plants.

• Leading the development of various human machine interfaces (HMI) for turbine control systems that enables the operator to view pertinent information and monitor the status of the turbine and associated equipment.
• Assisting in the creation and editing of control logic to ensure that systems operate in accordance with design specifications.
• Responsible for the testing of various control systems and the assembly of control panels and testing apparatuses.
• Assisted in the development of documentation to aid in the completion of projects such as Bill of Materials and project I/O databases.

Some of my accomplishments at HPI Energy Services include:

• The full development of turbine control HMIs that enable the operator to view all pertinent information and monitor operating status.
• The development of turbine control logic for utility companies such as New Ulm Public Utilities' Gas Turbine #7 and Bruce Power's SG5.
• Integral to the successful completion of a SCADA system for a air compressing plant consisting of 8 individual HMIs and associated control logic.

At 2mpwr, my roles, responsibilities and achievements include:

• Contributing to design activities including the compiling and documentation of design inputs, allowing me to become familiar with many different types of design documents.
• Gathering source information, assembling component lists for failure-mode analysis, in addition to initializing document preparation.
• Assisting in compiling equipments lists for power flow analysis study.
• Contributing to the preparation of test plans and reports, enabling me to gain an understanding of the characteristics of individual equipment components.
• Assisting in the development of work plans to ensure that project goals are met in a timely manner and that all quality steps are performed.
• Testing of equipment to ensure that the equipment in question meets client specifications and is in working order.

Several of my achievements at 2mpwr include:

• Supported 2mpwr's quality control administration, allowing 2mpwr to maintain it's ISO 9001 safety rating.
• Supported the preparation 2mpwr's environmental health and safety compliance program, allowing 2mpwr to achieve an "A" rating on our ISN Score Board.
