I value working for a better future, starting with improving my community through engaging with my peers on a variety of issues that impact their lives directly. Further, I take initiative to approach problems from a solutions-based perspective. I face adversity guided by my strong moral compass and integrity, ensuring I overcome obstacles no matter how difficult. I joined a summer Co-op with the OPS to learn about potential careers and skills that I can develop. I was able to work closely with police officers and created great relationships with some amazing people. I have gained 230+ work experience from working specifically on the FOI unit, which helped me gain valuable skills. Ottawa Police Venture Program | Ottawa Police Service I have had the privilege in be part of the OPS’s volunteer program. We were involved in many community events where we (the Venture program) assisted in organizing and establishing. The experience has helped me feel more comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This was vital because later I would work in the Ontario Elections in the Summer of 2022 for a straight week. The extremely hectic environment presented many challenges. However, by keeping a cool head, my peers managed to avoid mistakes and had a smooth election season. That same summer is when I started volunteering at the LMS law firm and I have been doing part-time there since, alongside my school year. A resourceful Law Intern/assistant helps attorneys handle paperwork, interview clients and conduct research work specific to each case. Solid knowledge of legal matters and terminology paired with excellent computer competency and research skills. A thorough and detailed individual consistently achieves exceptional and measurable results. Knowledgeable Legal Intern with a solid understanding of litigation documentation, client relationship building and court procedures.
