- I dispatch/plan 17 company drivers in the companies East Region. Also handle what work gets assigned to our outside carriers who help us on a daily basis.
- Part of my duties are supervising and communicating with drivers, customer service reps as well as shippers and receivers. I also communicate with our warehouse crew on a day to day basis. Part of my role also consists of contacting outside carriers and negotiating rates on a daily basis.
- Confirming on a daily basis that all Bills of ladings uploaded are correct before planning any deliveries.
- I have to keep track of our drivers work time during the week. Also keep track of driver hours to make sure no one goes in violation and that the drive time gets spread evenly with the whole fleet.
- I send out emails on a daily basis and work with Excel worksheets.
- Also we have our in-house system called Archer that I utilize on a daily basis.
- We also track and trace our trailers that are going OTR and Intermodal. Also I monitor out trailer inventory and freight inventory at our warehouse locations in NJ, PA and MA.
