• Analyze and address foundation-related issues for roads and bridges, ensuring structural stability and longevity

Soils & Aggregate Department (April 2023 – March 2024):

• Also contributed to sustainable material practices and enhanced testing methodologies for quality assurance in infrastructure projects.
• Researched recycled concrete and gabion stones, evaluating their durability using tests such as Micro Deval, freeze-thaw cycles, specific gravity, and magnesium sulphate.
• Assessed soil and aggregate properties, including classification, strength, and durability, to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Played a major role in the Proficiency Correlation Program to ensure accurate and consistent testing across labs.

• Assisted with field site inspection and contract management duties of projects including roadway widening and road resurfacing
• Ensured compliance of City standards and specifications
• Inspected infrastructure construction/repairs completed by Contractors such as sewers, water main, catch basins, curbs, sidewalk, grading, asphalt paving
• Assisted in preparation of daily construction reports by compiling relevant data Including working days, tasks completed, equipment and labour force
• Investigated and responded to public inquiries
• Maintained detailed measurement records of work completed for payments
• Notified Capital Works senior Inspector / Operations Technician of issues with contractor workmanship, safety concerns or other incidents immediately
• Assisted with co-ordination for materials testing
• Verified to ensure correct depths, dimensions and grades of infrastructure
• Visited various construction sites throughout the City
