Adriana Renteria

My name is Adriana Renteria, I am a child of two Mexican immigrant parents and a first generation college student. I currently attend Mt. San Antonio community college as an Astronomy major. So far my experience at Mt.Sac is great, I have passed multiple Astronomy classes that are offered here such as, Astronomy 5, Astronomy 8, and Astronomy 99B. Since Mt. Sac has excellent classes for Astronomy, I had the chance to be able to understand my way around a telescope and use it properly. I was also given the chance to get accepted to an internship at the Carnegie Science Observatory in Pasadena where I was able to understand coding using Python and be exposed to the environment of applying coding to real space data along with other aspiring scientists.
