Adrian Loke

• General & family medicine unit that can accommodate up to 35 adult & geriatric patients
• Managed caseload assignments from five to seven patients
• This unit was previously focused on GI, but would often still get complex GI related diagnosis including uncompensated cirrhosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, ulcers & bleeds, cholecystitis, and pancreatitis

Emergency room experience (Sep 2022 – Aug 2024)

• Triaged patients in a timely manner and prioritize patients based on their physical and psychological needs
• Experience with working in high volume, urgent, and emergent situations such as: procedural sedation, intubations, motor vehicle collisions, traumas, and cardiac arrests

Obstetrics experience (Jan 2022 – Aug 2024)

• Triage, assess, and manage patients in a two obstetrical bed facility while maintaining inpatient load
• Prioritized or delegated patient load when deemed appropriate due to acuity
• Assisted in over 30 maternal deliveries including vaginal, planned, and emergent cesarean sections
• Experience providing proficient labour, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care and education to parents
• Ability to interpret and classify fetal health surveillance and communicate with physicians regarding patients who require immediate interventions for their delivery

Inpatient Unit experience (Nov 2021 – Aug 2024)

• Experience working with a diverse patient population of any age on an inpatient unit accommodating up to 24 patients
• Manage an average caseload of 4 to 6 patients and up to 10 patients
• Charge nurse experience – supervise, mentor, and collaborate with other staff members
• Provide insight, communicate, and guide conversations during rapid rounds with other interdisciplinary members

• Developed high critical thinking skills while independently managing caseloads of 30 residents
• Charge nurse experience - oversaw the care of the residents through delegation of tasks to HCAs & LPNs, education, and care huddles; guiding the flow during annual family meetings with other interdisciplinary members
• Developed an advanced knowledge of geriatric treatment, clinical judgement, and advocating skills as both the interdisciplinary team and physicians were often unable to perform frequent patient rounds

• Performed COVID nasopharyngeal and throat swabs, organized, and transferred tests to the laboratory
• Assisted with administration including contacting people and booking times

• Manage daily clinics for unhealthy children aged 8 to 15
• Independently assessed, utilize diagnostic equipment, and medications to autonomously implement nursing diagnoses, plans, and interventions
• Use clinical judgement to contact campsite physicians if warranted
• Administer prescribed medications to children in a timely and efficient manner and evaluated effectiveness of over-the-counter medications based on patient’s symptoms
• Discussed, educated, and implemented strategies with other staff and children to encourage health promotion and minimize disease outbreak
