Moving into my 20th year of the nursing profession I am motivated and eager to continue my education and pursue the Nurse Practitioner certification. With at least another 20 years (hopefully) of practice I feel I can offer my expertise and experience back in the rural community in which I live.
I have gained a tremendous amount of diverse experience over the years which I know will only benefit me as I continue my education.
Currently I am working at a Public Health CDC RN in Health Protection.
Since joining the Public Health January 2021, I have gained extensive knowledge around COVID 19, communicable disease work, as well as working with many vulnerable populations throughout our province. I have managed case assignments of any reportable communicable disease, outbreaks, high risk immunizations, contact tracing, engagement with the Medical officers of health as well as many community partnerships.
In my current role and in my past roles as a Registered Nurse I have developed the following core competencies.
Team lead and charge nurse roles throughout the last 15 years in both critical care and Public Health. I have successfully completed my Critical Care nursing program, as well as a three-week orientation with health protection and prevention with my work in COVID tracing, EPIC and vaccination completion.
Ability to work and learn independently in a home environment, office or hospital setting while utilizing skype, zoom, outlook and excel, as well as open communication with coworkers- team leads and management. I have a great deal of experience in treating patients with care, compassion, and providing emotional support to patients and families during difficult times within an inpatient role which has transferred into the community setting. With my experience and qualifications, I feel I would be a great fit for the Collaborative Nurse Practitioner Program.
Kind Regards, Adele Budge
