Began my apprenticeship in the mill in September 2011 as a successful candidate in the Junior Trades Program.

• Completed Apprenticeship and ticketed in March 2015
• 5+ years shift maintenance work for entire Plant (current duties)
• Diagnose/maintain/overhaul many systems including: pumps, gearboxes, blowers, feeders, conveyors (many types), washers, rolls, fans, kilns, sootblowers, agitators, drives, turbines, presses and other specialized machinery
• Use precision maintenance practices to align and optimize machinery
• Trained in use of elevated work platforms, skidsteers, fork trucks and heavy equipment
• Plan jobs and prepare/stage spare parts for short and major shutdowns
• Lead crews and contractors during major shutdowns as on floor Lead hand
• Performed 6 months of Construction Millwright work for Mosaic mine expansion during lay off at AVTB
• Also required to perform various jobs from other trade groups (Pipefitting, welding, electrical)

Construction of new facility for Mosaic mine expansion

• Rig, hoist and stage new pieces of equipment for assembly
• Assemble new mine processing equipment (slurry pumps, cyclones, flotation cells, conveyors & screws)
• Foundation anchoring and leveling using transits, Epoxy resins and Hardpack shimming
• Structural steel and pipe hanger installation
• Assist in laydown area with staging and kitting components for delivery to site.
• Attend daily toolbox talks and complete FLRAs and JSAs

Began my career in the mill working in the Pulp department but was transferred to the Warehouse after a layoff in 2009

• Stock, ship, receive and issue parts to Mill employees and Suppliers
• Check in materials and store in proper locations located throughout Mill warehouses
• Operate forklift to deliver and store materials
• Perform inventory checks and resolve discrepancies
• Worked shift work including nights and weekends
• Works as Pulp machine operator prior to warehouse position

My first job after high school. I had many duties and was quickly utilized for more advanced roles as my competence increased.

• Ensure dealership service bays and equipment were clean and remain in order
• Assist technicians with servicing and perform maintenance on customer vehicles
• PDI and prepare new vehicles for sale
• Offer shuttle service for customers
• Operated GMC T6500 flatbed Tow truck all over Northwestern Ontario region
