As the Director of Support Services at Evergreen Campus of Care, responsibilities include managing 150 Team Members, overseeing Housekeeping, Laundry and Food Services.
· Provide leadership and direction to all Team Members.
· Supervisory duties include but not limited to recruiting, training and developing staff; scheduling, assigning and monitoring work; evaluating Team Member performance; ensuring a healthy and safe work environment; resolving conflicts and grievances; and taking appropriate disciplinary action in consultation with the Operations Manager and Human Resources.
· Prepares and/or monitors the preparation of daily and special event menu plans to ensure individual dietary needs and standards are met or exceeded and costs remain within approved budget allocations. Uses and applies Food Safe, HACCP principles, and production tools.
· In collaboration with the WestCana corporate policies and procedures, coordinates the best quality and most cost-effective products that will meet or exceed the individual and group dietary needs of the facility's residents.
· Provides leadership and direction to Team Members by interpreting and implementing policies and procedures; organizing and directing Team Member orientation and in-service training programs, scheduling and assigning work; monitoring and evaluating performance; and recruiting and taking appropriate disciplinary action.
· Other duties include but not limited to scheduling, inventory, month end report, weekly receivers' reports, audits and reports, regular monthly Team Member meetings, site/corporate meetings including occupational health and safety, Infection control, food committee.
· Monitors all operating expenditures
· Adhering to WestCana's inventory control systems to maximize savings and minimize waste.
· Purchases and stores inventory.
· Ensuring all phases of food preparation and service meets or exceeds health and safety requirements i.e. Community Care Facility Act, WHMIS, WCB, provincial safety standards, etc.
· Supervise food production.
· Participate in menu planning. And creates daily and weekly menus for the facility as per WestCana policies and procedures.
· Be present in the dining room during lunch and dinner meal service, as well as monitoring, supervising the whole facility for cleanliness.
· Responds to emergency situations.
· Ensures all audits are completed as required.
