Duties and Responsibilities

• Interprets and assist co-workers in the implementation of the philosophy, policies and standards of the nursing home.
• Provides leadership, directions, and control in implementation and continuation of the nursing process, ensuring the highest standard of nursing care is provided to residents.
• Maintains an environment that is conducive to the well-being of resident, staff, and visitors
• Assesses, directs, and supervises activities within the nursing home.
• Evaluates nursing staff performance, and initiates disciplinary process where appropriate.
• Ensure scheduling of nursing personnel during the tour of duty which may require reassignment of personnel to provide optimal resident care.
• Exercises direct control over the implementation of the fire and disaster plan during the tour of duty as necessary.
• Confers with the Head Nurse, Nurse Manager and Administrator/ Director of resident care on complex problems and offers recommendations toward their resolution.
• Investigate, documents and follows-up unusual occurrence involving residents, equipment and or staff as required.
• Carries out other relevant duties, including, but not limited to, dispensing medication, providing treatments, scheduling resident care routines, assisting, and advising physicians in their rounds coordinating para-professional care, and external medical services for residents, including transportation, etc.
• Encourage staff development for the ultimate benefit of resident care as well as personal development
• Review 24-hour nursing service reports, identifies nursing problems, encourage solutions and offers suggestions to the problem through research and investigations and reports significant events to the nurse manager and director of resident care.
• Confers with co-workers at shift change by giving and receiving reports
• Responsible for dispensing of medications, including injectables.
• Responsible for the care, control, and custody of narcotic, controlled and accountable medications during the assigned shift in accordance with the provisions of the Narcotic and Controlled Drug Act.
• Responsible for maintaining the MAR and resident profile documents for each resident.
• Responsible for daily bowel care, including need for laxative and/or further interventions as outlined by the bowel care protocols.
• Monitoring of blood glucose levels and intervention as per the facility's Diabetic Hypoglycemic Algorithm.
• Responsible for assessment of residents skin integrity on an ongoing basis and developing treatment plan based on those findings.
• Performs other relevant departmental and nursing duties as assigned by the Head Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Director of Care.

• Provide respond and receive calls to all types such as: TRAUMA, MEDICAL, DISASTER accident and Obstetrics patient with semi-fully equipped ambulance which provides basic life support, conserves life and alleviates suffering
• Make a thorough primary and secondary assessment following airway, breathing circulation and pre - hospital treatment with the coordinating doctors at the operating center
• Renders emergency care to adult, children and infant based on assessment findings such as: opening airway, ventilating patients, administering
• Cases Handled: Burn (Chemical, electrical and thermal), Poisoning, Gunshot wounds (Penetrating injuries, internal and external bleeding), Vehicular accidents, (Head injuries, lacerations avulsion and abrasions), Bombing incident, Spinal cord injuries, Hacking, Stabbing, Drowning, Mass casualty's incident, Fall, Cardiac arrest, Stroke, Seizure, Hypertension, Immunologic emergencies (Allergic reactions, and bee stings), Animal bites, Labor, Post - partum hemorrhage, Vaginal bleeding, Psychiatric emergencies and other trauma and medical cases cardiopulmonary resuscitation, assisting childbirth, managing general compliant, seizures, environmental emergencies a psychological crisis
• Providing care of simple and multiple traumas such as: Controlling bleeding, bandaging wounds, and manual stabilization of injured extremities
• Evaluates the status of patient and provides appropriate treatment which includes airways management and bandaging and splinting for fracture, CPR for cardiac and unconscious patient and treatment of shock
• Reassuring bystanders and patients by working in an appropriate and efficient manner and assisting other EMS providers in rendering medical care and protection of patients
• Knowledgeable in radio communication in all types of emergency calls
• Handle numerous emergent cases.

• Special nursing care given to help the patient regain there normal or near functional capacity and decrease development of complications.
• Act within the policies and procedures of the hospital and clinical department
• .Applying evidence-based approach in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient. Makes full assessment, plan, implement nursing interventions, evaluation of outcomes, revising and updating nursing care plan as indicated.
• Administer medication and stat orders, treatment, GT, NGT feeding in a safe way, Furthermore, observe for any adverse reactions, Ensure functioning of PEG tube and monitor for any leakage
• Render nursing care patient with NGT, tracheostomy tube, PEG tube, proper positioning, ulcer prevention and suctioning of secretions as necessary
• Escort patient to and from other department and or hospital and endorse completely
• Assess patient during admission and discharge
• Assisting the doctor for procedure and during examination and treatment of patient
• Maintain accurate and reliable monitoring such as vital signs, intake and outputted

• Plans and Implements nursing updates to a certain preparedness of the team in emergencies.
• Provide care to critically ill patients in a long term disease.
• Provides Basic and Advance Cardiac Life Support.
• Ensuring ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly.
• Closely monitors cardiac and physical status if patient under her care.
• Performs complex assessment and interventions.
