Thriving Pink is a volunteer-driven nonprofit in Yolo County dedicated to supporting those impacted by breast cancer. It offers a compassionate network of resources, grants, and educational opportunities to help individuals through their cancer journey. Volunteered at key events like the annual gala, volunteer day, and smaller events to raise money and awareness. As I volunteered more, I took on bigger roles, including engaging with attendees, coordinating logistics, and ensuring event success. I also made encouragement cards for patients. In total, I contributed over 75 hours to the organization.

Sunrise Rotary Award: Given by the State Board of Education to California students who demonstrate excellence in civics education and participation, an understanding of civic courses, and voluntary participation in community service. 2% of state students will receive. In my Race and Social Justice class, I helped create a project on racial hate crimes on campus and how the administration addressed them. We discovered they didn’t keep records, which became our solution, later implemented by the school. Our project was nominated to present at the symposium and board, after hours of data collection and analysis.
Seal of Civic Engagement: Given by the local Rotary club for excellence in an intensive leadership experience awarded to 3% of students per year in the district. I took initiative to organize and plan an orientation for 600+ incoming students over the summer after the teachers who had planned it left.
