I have over 6 years of Accounting experience which ranges from Bookkeeping (Tax & Financial Statement preparation), General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and Investment Accounting.
Have used IT systems like SAP, Opera, PeopleSoft & MS Office.
I also have working knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS and currently doing a self-paced online course on Canadian Corporate & Individual Tax.
Additionally, I also fair knowledge of Financial concepts like Fixed Income Securities, Derivatives and company valuation using DCF model and have Advanced Excel skill set.

As his is a Non-Profit Hotel, in addition to normal guests, we also are trained to deal with people who are asylum seekers, people being rehabilitated from drug abuse and also women who have suffered from domestic abuse.
There are around 212 rooms in the hotel and the work here includes but not limited to:
Checking-in and check-out of guests
Cashier Operations & Night Audit
Resolving adhoc concerns/questions from guests
Dealings with prospective guest queries over the phone, including online booking
Achievements: Streamlined the parking system and received multiple appreciations from current and former guests for going the extra mile
Fixed Asset Accounting & Controllership using PeopleSoft, where I reported directly to the US manager and oversaw Controllership & General Ledger Accounting work for Canada Operations.
Controllership of various Capital expenditures, which including posting rectification entries, having call with various stake holders, including store managers and keeping them informed about the latest accounting policies to ensure the expenses are booked using the right codes as well as accounts.
Typical Fixed Asset accounting, which include entries for additions, cost adjustments and retirements • Control over the accrual process with prior period comparisons and reports, including guiding respective stakeholders on any additional accruals, if needed during the period close.
Having regular calls with various stakeholders present in Canada and US, including store managers, to ensure they have a good understanding of the accounting policies and procedures.
Preparation of reports including variance analysis for Capital Accruals. Explanation of certain items of fixed asset accounts like gain and loss. Reports also are prepared for the Canadian tax departments as well as various other stakeholders.
Basic General Ledger work like reconciliations, report preparation and journal entries.
Worked as a Tax Consultant and Accountant. Work included preparation of Financial Statements as an Accountant and filing of taxes for individuals as a Tax Consultant. Full cycle bookkeeping for an entity which included Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable and Invoice Coding.
