Work History

Programming for Data Science Tutor (part Time)

Udacity
10.2022 - Current
  • Provided technical support for students on the community platform, responding promptly to inquiries and delivering effective solutions that helped learners progress through their coursework with ease.
  • Expertly facilitated content for students who encountered roadblocks in their learning journey, drawing on deep knowledge and extensive experience to guide them through challenging concepts and tasks.
  • Collaborated closely with Udacity representatives in regular meetings, providing valuable insights and recommendations that drove continuous improvement of the student experience and the learning platform.
  • Delivered personalized 1:1 support to students via the Community platform, providing tailored advice and mentorship that helped learners stay on track and achieve their goals.

Data Scientist

Cheetah Networks
03.2020 - Current
  • Developed a novel anomaly detection framework using a combination of unsupervised and supervised learning techniques to detect, classify, and report anomalies in LTE-M and NB-IoT networks using large-scale datasets. Achieved 92% average precision and 94% average recall, resulting in more accurate anomaly detection and improved network performance.
  • Led a team in developing an end-to-end analytics framework, from edge to database to UI, to notify customers about the quality of their networks in real-time. Enhanced customer experience and satisfaction by providing immediate feedback and proactive solutions.
  • Developed novel algorithms to assess quality of experience (QoE) for different IoT services over different communication layers. Improved overall QoE by identifying and addressing issues specific to each service and communication layer.
  • Implemented an automated band scan feature on Quectel 5G modem to sense 5G and LTE bands available within a cell and report RF information for each band. Improved network performance and reliability by ensuring optimal band selection for each device.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Queen's University
11.2019 - 08.2020
  • Developed complex statistical learning supervised models to predict risk of fall among older Ontario adults. To achieve this, administrative health services records that contains data of thousands of patients in Ontario was used. Developed models outperformed state-of-the-art models by 23% in number of needed features for same AUC.
  • Applied survival analysis techniques (e.g., Cox regression) to investigate effect of different variables on time it takes for elderly adults to develop Alzheimer disease.
  • Contributed to and actively participated in research conception, design and execution.

PhD Research Assistant

Queen's University
09.2014 - 10.2019
  • Developed supervised machine learning techniques to examine effect of different driving behaviors on risk rate by utilizing contextual information of large-scale naturalistic driving dataset (i.e., SHRP2, which is largest of its kind to date).
  • Developed semantic analysis HMM-based approach to infer fault contribution of drivers during risky events. Time-series CAN-bus vehicular data were used for that purpose.
  • Proposed and implemented safety-based route-planning algorithm. Algorithm picks routes minimize driving risk for drivers based on their personal driving risk profiles.
