Abbey Stirling

I have always had an interest in science and psychological research, which instilled a strong desire to expand my knowledge within the field. Since coming to UBC, psychology has had a profound impact on me and how I approach new situations. I have learned to examine novel experiences with empathy, and recognize the importance of perspective-taking and active listening when collaborating with a team. I am applying for a research position with the hope of expanding my knowledge base and gaining new experiences working in the field of psychology. I am comfortable working with individuals of all ages, stemming from my experience in tutoring and guest services. Throughout my time as a tutor and PSA member, I have honed my communication skills for effective collaboration within group settings, and have consistently demonstrated a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure project success.
