I have been a part of the VSB family for over 15 years training in jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop. I started assisting Miss Laura’s preschool classes in 2016, and I have continued ever since. I have been passionate about teaching dance since knowing it was a possibility. I have been mentored by Miss Laura as a teacher as well as a dancer for several years and has gone through both VSB’s Assistant and Junior Instructor Programs.
Starting in 2016 I became an assistant dance teacher which flourished my desire to become a dance teacher. I was later hired to teach on my own in 6 week spring sessions and throughout the 2021-2022 dance seasons I also was hired to substitute teach. Then in 2023 I was hired to teach for the season, creating dances to be showcased at dance festivals throughout the Edmonton area. During my volunteering, substituting and now teaching my own class I have gained skills of patience and understanding, responsibility, leadership, better communication skills and an ability to work with many different types of people. I have taught ages 3-14 in genres such as hip hop, acro, jazz and young ballet. My love for dance began when i started dances at the age of 3 and my goal is to pass my love of dance onto the next generation.
I am currently working on obtaining my ADTA Junior Acro Teacher Certificate.
