Aaron Cameron

I have been both a heavy equipment operator in the mine and a process operator in FFT for Fort McKay at Syncrude Base Mine since July 2018.

I worked as a business administrator at Ford engine and transmission factories in Liverpool, England, and Cologne, Germany, for three years. Assisted in the launch of two large contracts for my former employer, EWIE.

Previously, I was a substitute teacher for Fort McMurray Public Schools on days off from Syncrude, and an English teacher in China.

From 2009 (when I graduated) through 2017 I traveled and lived around the world. I spent two years in China, a year and a half in Australia, a year in Germany, and two years in England. In 2008 I also spent a month living with a tribe in The Republic of Chad as part of my intercultural studies minor. Most recently I drove from Ontario to BC in order to see more of my home country.

When not working I'm often organizing small (and sometimes large) events for people with similar interests. Everywhere that I've lived I've organized and led weekly events, processed membership applications, recruited members, and helped to create and enforce policies for several long lasting clubs and groups. For smaller events this is usually done in person or on line through social media, but several larger events have required radio interviews and contacting local media outlets for articles in papers. Because of my skills I have often been approached about moderating or administrating online groups including message boards, chat rooms, and Facebook groups, several of which I am currently active in.
