I have no work experience, but I have spent my time volunteering. With my experience volunteering, I have obtained many skills such as leadership, social skills, and hand-eye coordination. I am interested in the position of Roving Crew for the 10 am to 5 pm shift. I can troubleshoot problems of Stampede visitors using the social skills I have obtained from volunteering. Additionally, with my past experiences with volunteering, I can be alert on cleaning duty as I have had multiple experiences with physical labor. I hope to gain job experience from this opportunity as I need to build a portfolio for future job applications. This would be a great opportunity for me to branch out into the workforce and I hope you consider me.
I volunteered for 2 events on separate days. This was the community dinner on Dec. 10 and the other one was a kids' Christmas party on Dec. 12. During the community dinner, I've helped set up the tables, prepared food, served food, and cleaned dishes. Essentially, I volunteered as a waitress within the volunteering duration of 5 hours. This shows my experience with labor as I was constantly moving around to complete tasks. During the kids' party I supervised the area, greeted the community members, and sanitized tables for 3 hours. This demonstrates my patience as I was able to supervise a specific location (the main door) for a few hours.

To be more precise, I volunteered for 3 programs during this duration. During Nov. 1-Dec. 17 I volunteered 4.5 hours of my time to a program called Coding Buddies. On Nov. 22, I volunteered for 3.5 hours in a special event where I supervised kids and played games with them. During Sept. 1-Nov. 16, I volunteered to help little kids read books in a program called Reading Buddies for 6 hours in total. In conclusion, I have built my social skills with young children, which would help me in times of if their is a lost child during my shift.

On Sept. 18, I volunteered to pick up food for a food drive on the doorsteps of houses for 2 hours. During this time, I had to run to various houses that had food donations and haul the food (in some cases were heavy) to put in a car(to be delivered to the church). This has given me experience in physical labor.

This was one day event in Chinatown to showcase the contemporary art based off of local Chinese streets in the form of tables and chairs. I volunteered for 5 hours as an information station attendant. During my time I cleaned tables occasionally, provided information to passerby's, and supervised for COVID restrictions.
What I have Displayed:
I volunteered for the Lunch & Learn program where I interacted with senors to build stronger connections between seniors and youth. I volunteered during July 20-29 for 8 hours and Aug. 17-26 for 4.5 hours. This experience has helped me built my social skills with seniors.

In highschool this year, I am participating in the environmental club. During my time in the club, I have coordinated an event called the clothing swap. To elaborate, students donate their used clothing that they do not want and other students find "new" clothes. This event was created to create less clothing waste. I was the main coordinator for this event which shows my leadership skills. The teacher in charge of the Environmental Club is Natalie Mcleod and you can contact her through njmcleod@cbe.ab.ca
