Design Engineer 

• Designed overhead transmission lines with voltages ranging from 138kV AC to 500kV AC utilizing lattice towers, steel poles, and wood poles 


• Employed the PLS-CADD software suite to model efficient & constructible designs in accordance with client, provincial, and national standards


• Interacted with HONI project engineers to develop Line Refurbishment Project TIP packages based on HONI planning specifications and BEST phase documents


• Delivered all project drawings & documentation, including design & construction packages, as-built packages, design criteria, structure & assembly drawings, scope of work documents etc.


• Supported EPC projects by evaluating vendor bids, providing construction support, and coordinating activities within a multi-disciplinary team including electrical & civil designers, purchasing, drafting, project management etc.

Field Engineer

• Performed on-site due diligence for the construction of a number of 138kV AC & 240kV AC transmission line projects in and around the Calgary, Alberta area


• Studied RFC drawings and specifications issued to the field and resolved ambiguities/errors by consulting with design engineers; facilitated proposals for field changes or substitutions and provided resolutions via a RFI process


• Worked with sub-contractors prior to outages to ensure sourced material is in the correct quantities, client approved, and as per RFC design requirements, while simultaneously ensuring that future outage plans and SOW are aligned


• Worked closely with various stakeholders including design engineers, construction managers, procurement, and sub-contractors to coordinate construction activities; bridged communication gaps between office and on-site personnel



Construction Coordinator/Site Auditor

• Performed daily site auditing on Toronto Hydro Projects regarding the safety and quality of the contractor’s construction; performed weekly progress tracking, maintained site logs, and inspection records 


• Conducted verification of the contractor’s unit price billing and analyzed change order requests from contractors, ultimately recommended approval/rejection by confirming validity on site


• Ensured that capital projects are built as per construction drawings, conform to Toronto Hydro specifications and standards, are in accordance with the schedule, and within cost estimates


• Issued Non-conformance Reports (NCR) with respect to quality and safety to ensure fidelity and track contractor performance
